Quiltcon was last weekend – were you there? By our count, Seattle MQG was pretty well represented with 31 members enjoying the show, taking classes, soaking in lectures, and meeting online friends for 4 days of inspiration in Pasadena, CA. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by like-minded modern quilters! If you have the chance to go next year, we would highly recommend it. The 2017 show will be in Savannah, GA and 2018 will be back to Pasadena, CA.

For those of you who are not able to make the trip, fear not. A big part of the modern quilting movement is all of the online interaction. So even if you’re not physically there, you can still feel like you are! There are a flurry of recap blog posts this week – too many to mention – so if you have a quilty blogger you like, check their blog and they may just have a post (maybe even a few over on our right-hand sidebar). You can also get peeks of every part of the weekend on Instagram via #quiltcon, #quiltcon2016, #seamqgatqc, #seamqgatquiltcon, #quiltconcharityquilt, and #quiltconwest.

We wanted to share a few more cool links about the weekend with you. Of course, the quilt show was a huge attraction with over 300 member quilts on display. This MQG post shows all of the award winners.

Jennifer Moore of the Sewing Report was filming all kinds of stuff throughout the show. Check out her video recap:

Cheryl Arkison, one of the show’s judges, gave a great tour of the charity quilts on Periscope. Luckily, she saved the video so we can still watch it! We also shared pictures of a few of these on the guild instagram account (do you follow @seattlemqg?).

Christa Watson of Christa Quilts has a recap this morning where she shows that 2 of her favorite quilts from the show are ours! Well, one is ours and one is a member’s. Thanks Christa! Amber will be posting more about our charity quilt soon.

We will have more about the show at our March meeting. If you’d like to share a little bit about your experience, classes, lectures, etc, please let Allison or Kristen know before then. Thank you!
